Anderlecht Submit €3.5 Million Bid for Super Eagles Winger Chidera Ejuke

Belgian giants Anderlecht have reportedly submitted a €3.5 million (about ₦5.5 billion) bid for Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke as Sevilla continue efforts to trim their squad ahead of the new season. Reports from Spanish media indicate the Nigerian is among the players expected to leave before the transfer window closes.

Ejuke, 28, has one year remaining on his Sevilla contract, but his future has been uncertain for several months. The Spanish club is looking to reduce its wage bill and create room under La Liga financial regulations rather than moving him because of his performances alone.

Although the Nigerian returned for pre-season training, he has been left out of several friendly matches under coach Luis García Plaza. According to AS, his omission is another indication that Sevilla expects his future to be resolved before the new campaign begins.

Anderlecht are looking to strengthen their attacking options as they aim to challenge for the Belgian Pro League title after falling behind rivals Union Saint-Gilloise and Club Brugge in recent seasons. Ejuke is already familiar with Belgian football, having impressed during his loan spell at Royal Antwerp, where he scored four goals and provided four assists in 29 league appearances.

Sevilla are reportedly open to negotiating a deal, having signed Ejuke as a free agent in 2024. With only a year left on his contract, the Spanish side is keen to avoid losing him without receiving a transfer fee.

However, Anderlecht may not have a clear path to signing the Nigerian international. Reports suggest clubs from Saudi Arabia have also shown interest and could present more lucrative financial offers before the transfer window closes.

Neither Sevilla nor Anderlecht has officially confirmed an agreement, and Ejuke has yet to indicate his preferred destination. With several weeks remaining in the transfer window, the Super Eagles winger's future is expected to be decided soon.
