Air Peace Soars: Nigerian Airline Sweeps Aviation Awards with Record Seven Honours

Air Peace has reinforced its dominance in African aviation after clinching a record seven awards at the 2026 Nigerian Aviation Awards held in Lagos. The achievement highlights the airline’s rising influence across West and Central Africa.
The ceremony, hosted at the NIGAV Conference Centre, brought together key stakeholders, including regulators like the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, alongside major industry players to celebrate excellence in safety, operations, and customer service.
Founder and CEO Allen Onyema emerged as a standout figure, winning Airline Executive of the Year—an honour that underscores his leadership in expanding the airline’s footprint.
Among the top recognitions, Air Peace secured Nigerian Commercial Airline of the Year, cementing its position in the domestic market. It also retained its title as Best West Africa Sub-Regional Airline for the second consecutive year, reflecting its growing network across the region.
The airline’s investment in digital innovation earned it Best Air Travel Mobile App, while its onboard publication, Alice Magazine, won Best In-flight Magazine.
Its premium passenger experience was further recognized with the Best Airport Lounge award, reinforcing its appeal to business and high-end travelers.
Operational excellence was also highlighted, with the airline receiving the Pilot of the Year (Male) award—an indication of its strong safety culture and technical standards.
According to spokesperson Efe Osifo-Whiskey, the sweep reflects the airline’s continued investment in service quality, innovation, and workforce development.
The recognition also aligns with its broader ambition to strengthen Nigeria’s aviation presence across Africa.
For travel professionals, Air Peace’s growing route network and improved service standards present expanded options for regional connectivity. As African aviation evolves, the airline’s consistent performance positions it as a reliable carrier for both domestic and sub-regional travel.
