2027 Showdown: Minister Maigari Dares Opposition on Tinubu's Unstoppable Re-election!

Alhaji Uba Maigari, the Minister of State for Regional Development, has confidently asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid in the 2027 general elections faces no significant threat from any opposition political party or coalition. Maigari made this declaration in Jalingo following a stakeholders' meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, where party leaders discussed internal matters and strategized for upcoming elections.

According to the Minister, the opposition has demonstrably failed to present a credible alternative that could sway Nigerian voters away from the incumbent president. He critically noted, "I can tell you for free that the victory in 2027 will be very loud. Look at the opposition candidates. Apart from moving from one political party to another, what have they done to make Nigerians want to vote for them? Nothing." This sentiment underscores his belief in the opposition's lack of substantive impact or vision.

Maigari further argued that President Tinubu has laid a robust foundation for another electoral victory through widespread investments and reforms. He highlighted strategic developments across various crucial sectors, including physical infrastructure, education, healthcare, human capital development, and economic reforms. "The achievements are there for Nigerians to see. He has prepared the ground for a convincing victory in 2027," Maigari stated, emphasizing the tangible progress under the current administration.

Addressing party matters within Taraba State, the Minister extended commendation to Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for his efforts in fostering unity and ensuring inclusiveness among APC stakeholders. Maigari expressed satisfaction with the governor's performance, remarking, "I am satisfied with the performance of the governor, and I believe it is good enough to earn him another victory." He also affirmed that critical stakeholders would continue to guide Governor Kefas towards achieving the collective vision for Taraba State.

Finally, Alhaji Maigari staunchly refuted allegations that the APC is employing state institutions to intimidate opposition politicians. He insisted that public institutions are merely fulfilling their constitutional duties. "When they investigate or engage individuals over genuine issues, it is not correct to reduce everything to politics. People should be bold enough to face their issues," he clarified. The Minister concluded by asserting the APC's strong position and confidence in victory, stating that the party is too well-positioned to resort to harassment or intimidation of its political opponents.
