2027 Presidency: Jonathan's Name Ignites Fiery Debate Among Political Stalwarts

Speculations are intensifying regarding former President Goodluck Jonathan's potential return to the political fray for Nigeria's 2027 Presidential election. This prospect has generated varied reactions, from prophetic endorsements to stern warnings from political rivals and key figures. Apostle Oluwarotimi Adeyeye, an Ibadan-based cleric and founder of the Clear Revelation Ministry, has prophesied that Jonathan would emerge victorious in 2027 if he decides to run. Adeyeye, known for past accurate predictions such as the impeachment and reinstatement of former Oyo State governor Rasidi Ladoja, cited Jonathan's character and past decisions, including his refusal of a USA proposal on same-sex marriage and his peaceful relinquishing of power in 2015 to prevent bloodshed. He also advised incumbent President Bola Tinubu to shelve any second-term ambition, stating, “I don’t see him winning that contest but with God nothing is irreversible.”
Amidst these prophecies, reports indicate that a powerful faction within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is actively courting the ex-president for their 2027 presidential ticket. Sources close to both Jonathan and the ADC reveal that the former president is seriously contemplating a run but faces a dilemma. He is reportedly torn between his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which facilitated his rise, and the ADC, which he perceives as having strong potential. Jonathan's concerns reportedly include the possibility of certain individuals with ties to the Presidential Villa exerting control over the PDP, which could undermine his efforts. Furthermore, he is said to be unwilling to contest against Peter Obi, acknowledging the support he received from the Igbo people in 2015. The ADC, in turn, has stated its intention to zone the presidency to the South if Jonathan accepts their offer, otherwise, they would consider a northern candidate.
However, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has swiftly dismissed the notion of Jonathan's victory, asserting that he cannot defeat President Bola Tinubu. The Lagos State chapter of the APC, through its spokesperson Mr. Seye Oladejo, acknowledged Jonathan's role in the peaceful democratic transition of 2015 but emphasized that Nigeria has moved beyond
