Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has pledged to reconstruct the Bama main Market with modern, high-quality infrastructure.
The announcement came during a one-day working visit to Bama, where the governor expressed dissatisfaction with the poor quality of previous construction works executed by local contractors.
“We will make a determined effort to rebuild the Bama Market. This time around, we will ensure quality and durability,” Governor Zulum declared, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to lasting infrastructure development.
The governor urged market traders and local residents to cooperate with government officials and contractors to ensure smooth and timely execution of the reconstruction project.
He specifically called on those occupying main road spaces with temporary sheds to dismantle them, emphasizing the need to avoid disruptions to the planned construction work.
During the visit, Governor Zulum also interacted with National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in Bama.
In recognition of their contributions and resilience, he provided them with a support package of ₦1 million as a token of appreciation.
