Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky don express regret over im angry exchange wit United States President Donald Trump for Oval Office.

"Our meeting for Washington, for di White House on Friday, bin no go di way wey e bin suppose," im write for one post on X.

"E dey regrettable say e happun dat way. Dis na time to make tins right."

Im repeat say im tok about Ukraine "commitment to peace", adding: "None of us want endless war."

"Ukraine ready to come to di negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer," im kontinu.

"Nobody want peace more dan Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump strong leadership to get peace wey go last," di president add.

"We ready to work fast to end di war."

For im post on X, Zelensky say di first stages for ending di war go include "di release of prisoners and ceasefire for di sky — ban on missiles, long-range drones, bombs on energy plus oda civilian infrastructure — and peace for di sea immediately, if Russia go do di same".

Im say afta dis first stage: "Den we want to move very fast through all next stages and to work wit di US to agree a strong final deal."

For im final lines for di statement, President Zelensky repeat say Ukraine dey grateful for previous US support.

"We do really value how much America don do to help Ukraine maintain im sovereignty and independence," im write.

"And we remember di moment wen tins bin change wen President Trump provide Ukraine with Javelins. We dey grateful for dis," di president say.

E also add say Ukraine "ready" to sign di US-proposed minerals deal.

Ukraine Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, say im kontri dey "firmly determined to kontinu to co-operate wit United States" afta di news say US don press pause on aid to Kyiv.

Denys Shmyhal wey tok dis one for one news conference afta United States President Donald Trump goment press pause to military aid wey e bin dey send give Ukraine to fight Russia.

E say Ukraine "go kontinu through diplomatic and oda channels wey dey available" to work wit US to "make sure say Ukraine and United States kontinu to fight for lasting peace".

Im say US military aid dey "critical", come add say American support don save thousands of Ukrainian lives.

Shmyhal say dem need to reach peace agreement, but e must be on "Ukraine terms... as a victim" and say dem also need "punishment" for Russia.

Shmyhal also say Ukraine "ready to sign" di rare earth mineral deal wey go give America access dia deposits.

Oga Shmyhal also tok say im kontri don dey sharply manufacture arms.

Im say Ukraine bin don do am before at "various times during dis three years [since Russia launch im full-scale invasion]" wen aid bin dey delayed.

On continuing fighting, im say: "We Ukrainians no get choice... dis defence no give us pause, becos di enemy no dey give us pause.

"We dey confident say we dey supply our army wit everything necessary no mata di circumstances."

Dis year, Ukraine dey plan to increase domestic arms manufacturing by 50%, im add, come say dis one fit meet "all our needs" for naval technology and land drones.

Ukraine dey also manufacture im own artillery and im go meet all of im needs domestically dis year, Shmyhal add.

One of President Vladimir Putin tok tok pesin, Dmitry Peskov say US decision to press pause on aid supply fit be di best contribution to peace.

Peskov tok dis one during one daily Kremlin conference call wia BBC bin ask for im reaction to America pausing military aid to Ukraine.

"Of course, we still need to check di details," Dmitry Peskov add. "If na true, den dis na decision wey really fit push Kyiv regime to a peace process."

Later for di call, Peskov add say United States bin be di main supplier of weapons for Ukraine.

"If di US stop, or pauses dis supplies, e probably fit be di best contribution to di cause of peace," im say.

One Ukrainian Member of Parliament don call on President Volodymyr Zelensky make im apologise for im behavour during im White House visit last week – wia im, Donald Trump and JD Vance do shouting match in front of cameras.

Oleksiy Goncharenko, wey be member of Ukraine European Solidarity opposition party, tell BBC Cymru say Zelensky "for act in a different way" during di meeting, "becos e no be kindergarten, e no be boxing. Na about di lives of millions of pipo".

"Wetin dey more important, pride of President Zelensky, or lives of millions of pipo wey im dey responsible for? Im need to apologise."

Ukrainian opposition MP Mariia Ionova say rebuilding transatlantic unity and re-establishing communication between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky suppose be "top priority."

Ionova tell BBC say di situation "dey more dan just between Trump and Zelensky. Na about freedom, na about two nations,". "Chance still dey for us to fit do a lot of tins togeda."

"Di decision to pause military support na just signal say Trump go want make we give up. Di suspension of military aid na mata of concern," she add.

Meanwhile, one former Ukrainian deputy defence minister dey insist say Europe fit fill di gap in military aid wey US don leave.

Volodymyr Harvylov, we serve for dat office between 2022 and 2023, say Europe dey "on di rise" and fit supply Ukraine wit "arms and most of di everyday needs".

"Europe go dey capable of supporting Ukraine instead of US," im tell BBC Radio 4 Today programme.

Im stress say Ukraine dey "very grateful" for all di US aid wey dem bin receive between 2022 and 2024 and add say communication wit Trump administration go continue "on all levels".

Harvylov add say Ukraine go discuss wit im European allies how to source di "sophisticated systems" wey currently na only US fit deliver.

Although Harvylov dey insist say dem go dey alright wit out US military aid, Ben Barry wey be senior fellow for land warfare for International Institute for Strategic Studies, tell BBC Radio 4 World at One programme say, im believe say Ukraine go feel di loss of US intelligence as well as hardware.

"Intelligence na im bin be di key part of US, UK, and western support to Ukraine - but US na di world intelligence superpower, and neither di British nor di rest of Europe fit to quickly fill di gap from di great US intelligence assets," im tok.

"I tink, in terms of military capability, di tin wey go worry Ukraine most na di non-supply of Patriot missiles, wey get dis unique capability to intercept incoming ballistic missiles and im get more of dis capability pass anytin wey Europe get."

Di oda two capabilities na long-range artillery and di short-range ballistic missiles wey again, Europe no dey supply, im say.

Ukraine American lifeline dey blocked once more

For Ukraine, dis one dey equal to blocking of one major vein wey dey keep am alive.

Close to im western border wit Poland, dem dey get regular, police-escorted convoys of military aid wey dey crawl dia way go front-lines – dem be lifeline of armour and ammunition for tired troops.

Di White House decision go immediately block American supplies wey dey wait to cross over, dis na possible dangerous closing off tap.

Di last time wey dis bin happun, sake of of political disagreements for US congress, President Zelensky say Ukraine bin lost lives plus land directly as a result.

Di one time fortress eastern town of Avdiivka particularly fall to Russian forces early last year.

E get plenty questions wey need ansa unto weda Ukraine go still receive ammunition for American weapons wey dem don already deliver, or weda Washington go continue to share intelligence wit Kyiv.

"President Trump dey hang Ukrainians out to dry and im dey give Russia di green light to keep marching west," one Ukrainian advocacy group tok.

Presidents Trump and Zelensky both want peace. One want am sharply and di oda want am wit military assurances.

Dis two opposing definitions of peace na major point wey tie serious wrapper.
