Keonjhar: Body of a 35-year-old man was recovered from the Ardei river near Bankamaruni village under Keonjhar Sadar police limits. The deceased has been identified as Taranisen Naik of Balisuan village in Govardhan panchayat.According to sources, Naik went missing on June 25 morning after heading to the river for a bath. His family, concerned about his prolonged absence, conducted an extensive search but were unable to find him.The grim discovery was made on Friday when local residents, who had gone to the river for bathing, spotted Naik's body floating in the water. They alerted the authorities.Sub-inspector Manas Ranjan Panda from Sadar police station arrived at the scene, secured the area, and initiated a probe. "The body has been sent to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital for an autopsy. After that, the body was handed over to the family," Panda said.
