Man arrested for terroristic threats after pointing handgun at trucker as they drove
A man was arrested on a charge of terroristic threats after pointing a handgun at a trucker as they drove.
The incident happened on Wednesday, June 25th in Lincoln, Nebraska at about 1:30 p.m.
According to 1011Now News, police were called to the area of Highway 2 and Highway 77 on reports of a road rage incident. The truck driver involved in the incident told police that he was driving south on Highway 77 when a man in a black Ford F150 pointed a black handgun at him as they drove side by side.
Deputies later spotted a pickup truck matching the description provided by the trucker and were able to contact the motorist, 39-year-old Jacob Gumm. Gumm agree to be interviewed by police.
Gumm explained to officers that he was driving on Highway 77 when a semi truck attempted to cut him off multiple times. Gumm says he pointed his handgun at the trucker and rolled down his window in response to the driver’s actions.
Gumm was arrested and booked into Lancaster County Jail, where he is facing a charge of terroristic threats. His bond has been set at $3,000 and his next hearing is scheduled for July 24th.
