Details regarding which cinematic Ghostbusters team, if any, the series will follow remain undisclosed, with all further information currently held in a "Containment Unit."

Being a Ghostbuster, with its snazzy jumpsuits and fame, comes with the unique challenge of working unconventional hours, a concept Netflix aims to convey with the "Night Shift" title. The series adds to a rich animated legacy for the franchise. "The Real Ghostbusters," an animated series that expanded on the events of the first film, was a massive success in the 1980s, running for six seasons and spawning a popular toyline.
