White Lotus Season 4’s Glamorous European Escape: Paris and the French Riviera Confirmed as Filming Sites

HBO’s award-winning anthology series, The White Lotus, is preparing for its most sophisticated installment yet — Season 4 will be filmed in France, with creator Mike White and his production team reportedly scouting iconic sites in Paris and along the French Riviera.
After months of speculation, multiple sources have confirmed that the next season will trade tropical island vistas for the elegant allure of Europe, with filming expected to begin in 2026. The show’s creator is said to be focusing the new narrative on the South of France — famed for its opulence, yacht-lined harbors, and dramatic coastal scenery — while also incorporating a major subplot set in the heart of Paris.
One of the season’s most notable changes is its departure from the Four Seasons hotel chain, which provided the luxurious backdrops for the previous settings in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand. HBO has opted not to renew its partnership with the brand, signaling a fresh creative direction for the show’s aesthetic.
Among the contenders for Season 4’s central hotel setting are Le Lutetia — a Left Bank landmark known for hosting cultural icons like Charlie Chaplin and Ernest Hemingway — and the Ritz Paris, long celebrated for its opulence and literary history tied to Coco Chanel and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Both venues exude the grandeur and decadence that The White Lotus is known for, ensuring its tradition of visually striking locations continues.
Creator Mike White has hinted at a tonal evolution for the series. Following the dramatic close of Season 3, he remarked that he wanted to move “a little bit out of the crashing waves on rocks vernacular,” while ominously adding that “there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels.” This suggests a slightly different visual and emotional atmosphere — potentially darker, but still charged with the show’s trademark tension and social satire.
Fans can expect a new ensemble cast blending American and French actors, reflecting the show’s cross-cultural themes of privilege, class, and moral ambiguity. As in past seasons, The White Lotus will explore the uneasy intersections of wealth and humanity — this time through the lens of European high society.
While casting details remain under wraps, speculation is already swirling about potential returning characters, given past reappearances like Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge), Greg (Jon Gries), and Belinda (Natasha Rothwell).
Production is set to begin next year, with HBO expected to make official announcements about the cast and filming schedule soon. Meanwhile, viewers can revisit earlier seasons — each celebrated for its razor-sharp writing and lavish production design. Season 2, starring Aubrey Plaza and Theo James, remains the franchise’s highest-rated chapter on Rotten Tomatoes with a 94% critic score, while Seasons 1 and 3 continue to enjoy strong fan reception worldwide.
