What makes Revenge of the Sith the best of the Star Wars prequel movies?
Would you like to see a direct sequel to Prometheus?
As someone who honestly enjoys a significant amount of Prometheus, I admire the tonal difference between it and the original Alien films. I wonder if there's some merit to the idea of having a direct sequel or series based on David, Shaw, and the world of the Engineers introduced in that film. We see some continuation in Alien: Covenant, but it's almost an entirely fresh cast and felt like more of a tone shift. With Alien: Romulus now bringing the saga back to its roots, I'd love to see other films explore more of the concepts established in the prequels.
Who Was The Best Minor Love Interest In The Harry Potter Movies?
Throughout the Harry Potter franchise, the Golden Trio had multiple love interests before Harry and Ginny, as did Ron and Hermoine, ended up together. There’s been much debate over the years regarding whether these were the best Harry Potter couples or if some other love interests fit better for the characters. I started thinking about this when Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Afshan Azad (Padma Patil) reunited. Though I don’t think Padma and Ron were meant for each other, I liked the idea of Cho Chang and Harry together, even though they weren’t each other's dates to the Yule Ball.
Is Jensen Ackles playing Batman in the DCU?
Batman will debut in the new DC Universe's The Brave and the Bold movie. The Boys star Jensen Ackles has been rumored to play Bruce Wayne, which James Gunn, the DCU's creative chief, has shot down. Ackles could still be cast as Batman; however, no actor has been chosen at the moment, with casting for the new Batman only starting when the movie has its script ready. Based on his dark and action-heavy roles in Supernatural and The Boys, as well as being the voice of Batman in DC's animated Tomorrowverse, Ackles would be perfect for the DCU's Dark Knight.
Who is the best live-action Superman actor?
Henry Cavill was the latest to take flight in theaters, but the DCEU's bleaker take on the Man of Steel never allowed him to truly shine. Brandon Routh had immense potential but was saddled with a boring movie. Tyler Hoechlin is a fantastic Clark Kent and Superman, being a top candidate. It is hard to put other actors above Tom Welling, as the star had ten seasons to develop his Clark Kent in Smallville. Ultimately, Christopher Reeve still stands as the most iconic take on Superman with a perfect dual performance, but David Corenswet could change things in 2025's Superman.
Be honest, do you like that Krypto is in James Gunn's Superman film?
The first trailer for 2025's Superman prominently features Krypto the Superdog. Because Krypto's appearance is a first for live-action on the big screen, there's certainly a wide range of reactions to Kal-El's four-legged friend, who possesses his own set of Kryptonian superpowers. That said, I'm very excited to see Krypto, who's often been an easily dismissed part of the Superman mythos. I'm also looking forward to what Krypto's appearance could mean for 2026's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, as the original comic features the Superdog as well.
Who should play Rogue in the MCU's X-Men reboot?
As development continues on the Marvel Cinematic Universe-set reboot of the X-Men franchise, fans continue to voice their picks for who should play the iconic mutant superhero team, including Rogue. While some minds may gravitate to the likes of Jenna Ortega or Millie Bobby Brown for the role, I'd personally be intrigued to see Mckenna Grace's take on the character, as she's not only shown an incredible acting range in the recent Ghostbusters movie and A Friend of the Family, but also an interesting mix of introverted and extroverted personalities with her characters that I think would suit Rogue perfectly. Additionally, given the MCU has recast actors in the past, Grace's prior role as a young Carol Danvers could easily be a non-issue.
Where was Ahsoka during the original trilogy?
In the 40 years since the original trilogy ended, Star Was has introduced a number of iconic characters across its long-ranging timeline, and The Clone Wars' Ahsoka remains one of fans' favorites. Following a hiatus in her tenure, Ahsoka has recently been seen in the Mandalorian post-Empire era, leaving many to wonder where she was during the original trilogy of movies. Given Ahsoka was still so rattled by her master's turn to the Dark Side, it seems likely she was in hiding in the same vein as Obi-Wan Kenobi while she better honed her skills.
Who should play Batman in James Gunn's DCU?
I'm not huge on many of the common casting ideas for Batman in The Brave and the Bold movie, but one star who's caught my eye is Lee Pace. He's the right age for an older Batman to fit the DCU's story, and he's got the physicality to be one of the most imposing iterations of the character, much like Affleck's.
How was Batman alive at the end of The Dark Knight Rises?
The Dark Knight Rises featured Batman's sacrifice to save Gotham, or at least it seemed to do so, as Bruce Wayne was later seen alive and well in the company of Selina Kyle. There are some theories as to how Bruce was alive, including a possible Lazarus Pit in connection to The Dark Knight trilogy's Ra's al Ghul and Bane's "The Pit" prison. However, The Dark Knight Rises teased how Christian Bale's Batman faked his death, as The Bat's autopilot had been fixed while Lucius Fox thought it was broken, so Bruce could have ejected himself before the bomb exploded.
Should Eternals 2 still happen?
Marvel currently has no plans for a sequel to Eternals, but that doesn’t mean Eternals 2 shouldn’t happen. Eternals wasn’t a success, but I think the story and characters deserve a second chance. The movie was also stylistically gorgeous, which was a breath of fresh air in the superhero genre. I think it would be a shame for such a talented cast, including Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, and Barry Keoghan to be in only one MCU movie. I’m still hopeful for Eternals 2.
What would be Avengers: Secret Wars' best superhero team-up?
Avengers: Secret Wars has the potential to feature a wide array of MCU and multiverse heroes. In order to defeat Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, many powerful heroes will have to team up, and that could include some pairings that fans have been waiting to see for a very long time. The superhero duo I most want to see is Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, as the two helped set the path for future Marvel movies. I'd also love to see Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man with a Spider-Woman version of Emma stone's Gwen Stacy, bringing their chemistry back.
Is Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom good casting?
During Marvel’s 2024 Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. will be playing Doctor Doom in the MCU. Though Doctor Doom is a good replacement for Kang, Robert Downey Jr.’s casting has caused mixed reactions. I’m happy to see RDJ back in the MCU, but I might have a hard time seeing him as anyone but Iron Man. I hope Doctor Doom will be an Iron Man variant in the MCU rather than the franchise ignoring Robert Downey Jr.’s history as the superhero.
Should Fast & Furious 11 bring back Paul Walker's Brian for the franchise finale?
Fast & Furious 11 is expected to be the final mainline installment of the long-running action franchise, and already looks to be racing towards a filming start next year. Vin Diesel recently confirmed having seen some concept art for the movie, including seemingly teasing it will involve Paul Walker's Brian after the character's absence since Walker's death in 2013. While Furious 7 had the difficult task of concluding its filming and sending Brian off in a meaningful fashion, it did so pretty well with some well-executed CGI of the late actor, which makes the possibility of his return troublesome. As a fan of the franchise, it's hard to deny Brian's absence has been felt deeply these past few films, but out of respect for Walker and avoiding undermining the emotional ending he got, I don't think he should come back for Fast & Furious 11.
Who should take over playing Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare On Elm Street?
Robert Englund recently confirmed that he would not be playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise again in the future beyond a potential animated movie, leaving the door open for someone else to take on the role. Though the prior attempt to relaunch the franchise with the Jackie Earle Haley-led 2010 remake was largely dismissed by critics, Haley's performance has stood out as one of the few good things about it for me, and I would certainly be open to him coming back. If not, other people I think would be great are Englund's own secondary pick, Kevin Bacon, particularly as it would be a fun full-circle moment to see him go from slasher victim in the original Friday the 13th to an iconic slasher, Richard Brake, who is often incredibly haunting in the indie horror genre sphere, or if they want to go in a more quippy direction as the later sequels did, I would love to see Doug Jones or Matthew Lillard.
Will Muse's identity be revealed in Daredevil: Born Again season 1?
While tension continues to brew between Matt and Mayor Fisk, Daredevil: Born Again season 1 just began building to a new threat in the form of the serial killer Muse. In the comics, Muse's identity is never revealed, and showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated the villain will get a multi-season arc in the vein of Kingpin, so I can't imagine season 1 will reveal who he is. However, I would kind of love for season 1 to end on a cliffhanger of his identity being revealed to make it personal for a character. I would kind of like for it to be revealed that Foggy is actually alive and transformed into Muse, having been pushed to the brink after nearly being killed and therefore willing to go farther than Matt or The Punisher to take down criminals.
Was Benedict Cumberbatch lying or not about Doctor Strange's Avengers: Doomsday role?
Benedict Cumberbatch first said that he would not appear in Avengers: Doomsday before the actor walked back on that and confirmed Doctor Strange would be in the movie after all. However, when Marvel announced more than 20 actors for the film, Cumberbatch was nowhere to be seen. I think it could be one of two things. The first is that he was telling the truth initially, and Marvel asked him to lie later to keep it a mystery. The second is that Cumberbatch is indeed in the movie, but he and others will be announced later.
What villain should Tom Holland's Peter Parker fight in Spider-Man 4?
Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the first drafts of the script for Tom Holland's Spider-Man 4 are gearing up to be turned into the studio, creating excitement for the MCU webslinger's return, as well as curiosity as to what villain he'll face off against next. With so many already set up in previous movies, I think it would be the most intriguing to actually see Scorpion finally return to get revenge against Peter after the events of Homecoming, particularly with the MCU's grounded twists to its iconic Spider-Man villains thus far.
What is your favorite sci-fi movie?
The sci-fi genre is one of the most varied in storytelling, offering everything from the mind-bending twists of Christopher Nolan's Inception to the more thought-provoking themes of Children of Men. But the best sci-fi movies find a way to balance weightier thematics with grandiose set pieces, and few have done this better than Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, or even Denis Villeneuve's sequel. Both movies did a fantastic job of exploring the nature of AI and the thin line between created and natural life while also delivering some unforgettable set pieces and production design.
Will TLC's new show Polyfamily offer a better look at polyamory than Sister Wives?
Polyfamily, which premieres this April, will be joining the network that's aired Sister Wives for the last decade, shedding new light on a new family. Without the piece of Sister Wives that's founded in religion, Polyfamily seems like a more modern take on plural marriage that viewers may find themselves migrating toward. I'm hoping that Polyfamily provides a healthier depiction of polyamorous relationships.
Does Ted Lasso recasting Henry suggest a bigger time jump than expected in season 4?
Previous seasons of Ted Lasso were generally set in the present, but the news that the show will be recasting Henry makes me wonder whether the events of seasons 3 and 4 will be further apart than the couple of years since the final episode. It could just mean that Henry is playing a bigger role, but it's also not unusual for TV shows to recast child characters as they hit their teenage years and feature in more significant storylines either. I'm intrigued about who will play him, but I'm more interested in learning why Henry is being recast.
