Arrest Warrant Issued for Driver Who Vanished With GH¢1.2 Million

The Kumasi Circuit Court III has issued an arrest warrant for Kwadwo Antwi, a driver accused of stealing GH¢1.2 million. The money was entrusted to him by his employer for delivery to business partners in Kumasi.
The warrant, issued on April 28, 2025, cites a violation of Section 124(1) of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). According to a statement from the Ashanti Regional Police Command, signed by DSP Godwin Ahianyo, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, Antwi allegedly absconded with the funds and has since gone into hiding.
Despite efforts to locate him, the suspect remains at large, with authorities now seeking public assistance to apprehend him. Antwi is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, dark in complexion, stout, and a native of Kukuom in the Ahafo Region. He speaks Twi and English and is believed to be hiding at Sehwi Asawiniso in the Western North Region.

The police statement notes that any cooperation in helping locate and apprehend this suspect is deeply appreciated.
