Wedding Horror: Mother-in-Law Slammed for 'Cosplaying' Son's Wedding in Her Own Dress!

A bride-to-be, Deanna, took to TikTok to share a shocking incident involving her future mother-in-law's choice of attire for her son's wedding. The drama unfolded after the groom accompanied his mother dress-shopping, as Deanna was unavailable. To his astonishment, his mother emerged wearing a white lace gown, which he immediately told her was unsuitable for the wedding, as it was clearly white. However, the mother-in-law adamantly insisted the dress was "pink" and claimed she had already placed an order and paid a deposit.
Deanna's future husband initially kept the incident from her, but when she learned of it, several aspects troubled her. Deanna revealed that she had never disclosed details of her own wedding gown to the woman, leading to concerns they might end up wearing identical dresses. She publicly condemned the mother-in-law's choice, stating, "It is not a wedding guest dress or a dress that is just white - it is a wedding gown."
Days later, the mother-in-law reportedly returned to the shop, utilizing the credit from the cancelled order, and purchased a navy dress, which was deemed more appropriate for a mother-of-the-groom. Deanna expressed confusion over this abrupt change, likening it to the mother-in-law shopping for two different weddings, suggesting a deliberate awareness of what was acceptable. To prevent further confrontations or surprises on the big day, Deanna proactively contacted the store to confirm the white lace gown's cancellation and the new navy dress order. Deanna's own mother is set to wear a black gown for the ceremony.
The video Deanna shared on TikTok, showcasing the white gown her fiancé's mother initially intended to wear, quickly went viral. Under the username @deannanotdeanna, the post garnered over 4 million views and more than 16,000 comments in just one day. Social media users were quick to condemn the mother-in-law's actions, with comments ranging from "She’s cosplaying marrying her son? I’m confused" to "I bet in her mind it’s 'her' wedding." Many expressed disbelief and questioned which bridal shop would even sell such a dress to a mother of the groom.
