President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) Faith Odhiambo, has announced that the organization has a team of advocates on the ground in Isiolo County following reports of abductions after President William Ruto was booed and denied a podium on Friday, February 7, 2025.
In a statement on her X account on Sunday, February 9, 2025, Faith confirmed that LSK was investigating the claims and closely monitoring the situation to verify the circulating reports.
She also urged Kenyans in the area to use social media and their smartphones to document and share any incidents resembling an abduction as evidence against the government.
“We are closely following reports from Isiolo and have advocates on the ground to assist. Please record, post, and share details: Name. Location. Time. We remain vigilant. Let justice be our shield and defender!” she posted.

Since Friday’s chaotic rally, where Ruto dismissed hecklers as puppets of drug traffickers, social media has been awash with reports that youth who attended the event and jeered at the president—alongside other leaders—have been vanishing one by one.
These reports were today also echoed by aspiring politician Alinur Mohamed, who noted that information had reached him indicating that abductions were ongoing in the sleepy town in northeastern Kenya.
Alinur, a vocal critic of President Ruto’s administration, accused the government of attempting to force people to support it against their will.
“I have received reports that comrades in Isiolo County are being picked up one by one after their chants against Kasongo. No matter what they do, you can never force people to like you,” he stated.
I have received reports that ODM Party wants to fire the Nairobi County Senator Edwin Sifuna from the Secretary General position, as some powerful members of the Party feel attacked by his statements. Ni kumoto!

Earlier, President William Ruto was left in disbelief as he faced a hostile crowd that refused to let him finish his speech, instead chanting, “Ruto must go!”
This took place on the final day of his northeastern Kenya development tour in Isiolo, where he had landed to address residents and launch the County Aggregation and Industrial Park project on Friday, February 7, 2025.
Tensions escalated during the event when residents erupted into chants of “Ruto must go” following an address by Isiolo MP Bonaya Mumina Gollo.
Governor Abdi Guyo attempted to calm the crowd, urging them to show respect to the president.
“Leo ni siku ya rais, wacha tupatie rais heshima. Tupatie rais heshima. Tuskize viongozi wote. Wale wamezoea kupanga, watu wapigie watu kelele, hamtarudi kupiga kelele Isiolo. Tunaelewana?”
However, the situation worsened when Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo attempted to speak, only to be heckled and denied a chance to address the gathering. She was forced to plead with the crowd.
“Let us not throw stones,” she urged.
Facing an unyielding tide of opposition, Ruto took a hard stance, accusing drug lords of bankrolling the protests as retaliation for his administration’s crackdown on narcotics in the region.
“We’ve been having problems in Isiolo and Marsabit with foreigners bringing drugs here and selling them to our children. Let me be clear – we will deport these drug dealers,” Ruto declared.
“I hear these drug dealers have brought youth to heckle us here. Listen carefully, young people – you cannot intimidate the Kenyan government,” he added.
Despite the resistance, Ruto remained defiant, vowing to continue with development projects in the region.
“Take your threats elsewhere. I will build Isiolo,” he stated firmly.
