Olopoeyan Encourages Adegoke and Others to Declare 2027 Aspirations
Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan has disclosed details from a private meeting with Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, a prospective Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 elections in Oyo State. The meeting centered on Adegoke's political aspirations to succeed the current Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Olopoeyan, while addressing journalists, confirmed that Adegoke, who chairs a privately owned radio station based in Ibadan, visited him to formally announce his candidacy for the 2027 gubernatorial race. In response, Olopoeyan has endorsed Adegoke, lauding his leadership abilities, business experience, and strong connections within the community. He urged other politicians, regardless of party affiliation, who harbor ambitions of succeeding Governor Seyi Makinde to promptly declare their intentions to invigorate political engagement within their respective parties.
Olopoeyan emphasized that as Chief Adegoke has declared his intentions, other aspirants for the Agodi Government House should follow suit. He described Adegoke as a multifaceted leader with a proven track record in both the public and private sectors. He highlighted Adegoke’s empowerment of numerous youths in Oyo through his role as Chairman of a radio station and various businesses across the country, underscoring the kind of visionary leadership needed to advance Oyo State in alignment with Governor Seyi Makinde’s sustainable development agenda.
Olopoeyan advised those with similar aspirations not to delay their consultations, emphasizing the dynamic nature of politics, where unexpected developments can rapidly change the landscape.
