2027: Olopoeyan Holds Private Talks With Adegoke, Encourages Others To Declare Aspiration
IBADAN – Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan has revealed details of a private meeting with Chief Adegboyega Adegoke, a 2027 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Oyo State.
According to Olopoeyan, the discussion focused on Adegoke’s political ambitions and desire to succeed Governor Seyi Makinde.
On Friday, while briefing journalists on the outcome of his meeting with the PDP aspirant, Olopoeyan confirmed that Adegoke, the Chairman of an Ibadan-based privately owned radio station, paid him a visit at his home to officially inform him of his decision to run for governor in the 2027 general elections.
Olopoeyan endorsed Adegoke, citing his leadership skills, business acumen, and grassroots connections.
He also urged other politicians across party lines who want to succeed Governor Seyi Makinde to announce their intentions as soon as possible, claiming that doing so would revitalise political activities within political parties.
He maintained that Chief Adegoke had informed him of his intentions, and that others vying for the Agodi Government House should do the same.
“Gboyega is a versatile leader who I have seen grow in both public and private sector roles.
“As the Chairman of a radio station and other chains of businesses across the country, he has not only empowered many youths in Oyo, but he has also demonstrated the type of leadership vision that Oyo State requires moving forward in line with Governor Seyi Makinde’s sustainable development agenda.
“Gboyega is not the only one with this aspiration; there are many others, and none of them should sit on the fence until it is too late for them to begin wider consultation because politics is complex, and one hour is a luxury of time for events to take unexpected turns.
