Warm air remains over mainland Alaska

Published 1 week ago1 minute read

ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Warm air is bathing Alaska in the the highest temperatures the state has seen in about 10 months!

Wet weather along with gusty winds will continue over the Aleutians and west coast, as a blocking ridge is in place over interior and southcentral Alaska.

Highs will range from the 60s to 80s over mainland locations through early next week.

The warm air is prompting a flood watch over the Brooks Range, where snowmelt is filtering into some still-partially frozen rivers and the concern is for ice jams and rising water levels through Tuesday of next week.
