ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Cloudy skies over southcentral on Monday, with a chance of showers persisting in the forecast, especially along coastal areas. That means the Aleutian arc, southwest and southcentral.
Interior Alaska is seeing convective activity kick up again. Lightning was increasing Monday afternoon and evening, associated with scattered thunderstorms in the interior.
An upper level trough over Bering Sea helps to steer low pressure into southern areas of the state.
The warm weather over Solstice and the weekend has resulted in fire activity and flooding.
Rain showers dot the forecast for southcentral along with cooler temperatures.
