The event, hosted by area MP Majimbo Kalasinga, took an unexpected turn when women erupted in jubilation mid-speech, announcing that one of the attendees had given birth at the venue.
"A woman has given birth!" they shouted joyfully, prompting Sifuna to pause his address with a smile as he took in the moment.
Moved by the occasion, the senator directed that the new mother be rushed to the hospital for proper care.
In a gesture of goodwill, he gifted money for diapers and other necessities to the mother through MP Kalasinga, and also extended a cash token to the new father.
Sifuna further asked for suggestions on the best name for the newborn, a gesture that resonated warmly with the crowd.
The joyful moment quickly spread on social media, with many praising the senator’s kindness and charisma.
Supporters hailed the incident as symbolic of the great things awaiting the politician, who is also a lawyer known for his eloquence and firm leadership.
However, some Kenyans questioned the wisdom of the woman attending a public rally so close to her due date.
Later, Sifuna shared a post on social media:
“A gathering with our women of Kabuchai. Thanks to area MP Majimbo Kalasinga for the invitation. I was truly honoured.”
The event highlighted both the unpredictability of public forums and the human connections that can emerge in the most surprising moments.

In other news, during the 2022 campaigns, two women gave birth at a rally in Nyaribari Masaba Ward, Kisii county, while attending a political event for then-gubernatorial aspirant Ezekiel Machogu.
According to reports, both women delivered baby boys within 30 minutes.
Elderly women at the event stepped in and successfully assisted with the deliveries before medical support arrived.
Deeply moved by the incident, Machogu promised to take care of the newborns as part of his commitment to community welfare.
