Victor Osimhen refuses to reduce wages for Manchester United
Manchester United seem to have hit a roadblock in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen.
While linked with the likes of Al-Hilal and Galatasaray, Osimhen appears to have an interest in joining Man United, thereby handing manager Ruben Amorim the advantage in negotiations.
Last week, The Peoples Person relayed that Osimhen is interested in moving to the Premier League.
Soon after, reports surfaced claiming that United are Osimhen’s preferred destination.
Still, it appears as if United may be some way off of convincing Osimhen to sign along the dotted line.
Turkish sports journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has reported that the player and club seem to have a gap in payment expectations.
“Galatasaray made the best offer for Osimhen in Europe, while Al-Hilal did so in the Middle East,” Sabuncuoğlu posted on X.
“Juventus is the club closest to Galatasaray’s offer. Napoli will only approve a move to Juve if no other offers come in. ManU really wants Osimhen but asked for a salary reduction, which the player rejected!”

Clearly, the Nigerian feels that he is worth more than what United may be willing to offer him.
Despite being in clear need of a striker, United have been slow in their efforts to sign a proven goal scorer this transfer window.
United appear to be hobbling along in their pursuit of the Nigerian, nowhere near as proactive as the likes of Galatasaray in the transfer race.
Given their apparent hesitance, it seems as though United are unlikely to make any kind of transfer breakthrough, especially while other clubs close in on the player.
Even if United decide that Osimhen is not for them, they will need to show more urgency with other transfers this summer, especially if they hope to start the new season with a proven goal scorer in their ranks.
