He acknowledged the efforts of the veterans but noted that they could have done more to uplift rising talents through mentorship and support.

In a chat with Graphic Showbiz, the Dede singer reflected on the legacy of older musicians, saying: “Well, they have done their best although I feel their best was not good enough. They could have done better.”

He hoped today’s stars such as Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Samini, among others, would do more to uplift those coming after them through mentorship and support.

“When an era comes, older stars empower new crop of artistes, and I hope the same for mine. That’s why I’m looking forward to Stonebwoy who I admire greatly to bless me sooner or later,” he added.

Born Michael Owusu Frimpong on June 3, 1999, Mickey Lux describes himself as a true creative, an artiste in every sense. For him, music is his first love followed by art, which he describes as a form of escape. ( Read Stonebwoy is biggest inspiration for young acts – Mickey Lux)

He tells Graphic Showbiz that when he’s not recording music or working in the studio, you are likely to find him with a pencil or brush in hand, expressing himself through visual art.

Drawing has always been a big part of his life, and it continues to be a personal outlet even as his music career takes centre stage.

“If I hadn’t become a musician, I’d be drawing professionally by now. I love art, and I always use any free time I get outside of music to draw,” he said.

Although his love for the arts runs deep, Mickey’s bond with music has been just as profound and enduring. From the age of six, he began learning how to play the keyboard, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong passion.

By age nine, he was already performing with the All Power Evangelistic Ministries choir, showcasing a talent beyond his years. With the guidance and encouragement of his brother, he expanded his skills and learned to play several more instruments.

Now, Mickey is channelling that early connection into a full-fledged career in music, taking each step with purpose, passion, and pride in the path he’s carved towards stardom.

His journey into commercial music began shortly after completing senior high school. He found himself hustling on the streets, looking for an opportunity to be seen. That opportunity came when he was discovered by BKC Music, a record label that saw potential in his raw talent and signed him in 2020.

Since then, Mickey Lux has steadily built a name for himself, releasing songs, including Aye, Soja, Only You, Time, Yehowa and Tonight, which reflect his range and emotional depth as an artiste.
