Vertu Trophy fixture dates confirmed | Under-21 | News | Wolverhampton Wanderers FC
All three group stage matches of Wolves under-21’s 2025/26 Vertu Trophy campaign have now been confirmed.
James Collins’ side are in Group A of the competition this season and will travel to face Salford City, Stockport County and Wigan Athletic for the chance to reach the knockout stages.
Wolves will begin their 2025/26 campaign away at Stockport’s Edgeley Park on Tuesday 2nd September, before taking on Wigan at the Brick Community Stadium on Tuesday 7th October.
The under-21s will then conclude the group stage at the same venue as they did the 2024/25 version of the competition, away at Salford, but this season’s match will take place on Tuesday 11th November.
All three matches are scheduled for 7pm kick-offs, with ticket details set to be confirmed in due course.
The four teams in Group A will play each other once in the first round of the tournament, with the top two teams from each group making it into round two.
Collins’ side are once again competing in the EFL competition, won by Peterborough United last season, having been invited as one of 16 Academy teams to join the 48 clubs in League One and League Two.
Last season, Wolves faced Port Vale, Wrexham and Salford in the group stage as they fell out of the competition after the opening round of fixtures.
