Urgent Warning: Religious Leaders Plea to Avert 'Blood Bath' in the Nation

Statements emanating from certain prominent religious leaders concerning the upcoming 2026 Presidential and General Elections in Zambia have been described as both alarming and uncalled for. The act of preaching about a potential 'bloodbath' before, during, and after these elections is considered alarmist and demonstrates a lack of sensitivity to the delicate situation that could arise. Such rhetoric is dangerous, as any widespread conflict or 'bloodbath' would not be selective, but rather would engulf everyone, including the very religious leaders who propagate such messages.
It is regrettable that some of our religious leaders may not have experienced the devastating realities of war-torn nations. Countries like Angola, which endured immense destruction of life and property in the 1970s, serve as stark examples of the consequences of conflict. The profound peace that Zambia has enjoyed since its independence is a precious asset that must never be taken for granted. Careless talk and irresponsible pronouncements can easily erode this peace, leading to deep and lasting regret for the nation.
All genuine 'men of the Collar' are implored to actively and consistently promote peace in every aspect of their lives and ministries. This means they should pray for peace, preach peace, prophesy peace, dream peace, talk peace, laugh peace, dance peace, and maintain a posture of peace. Religious leaders, as moral compasses, must never succumb to political manipulation, especially when driven by desires for money or property. Such behavior is deemed unbiblical and satanic, compromising their spiritual integrity and influence.
Observations of public statements and sermons delivered from the pulpit reveal concerning signs of political crookedness in some religious figures. This alignment with political agendas poses a significant danger to the nation's social and political fabric. It has been noted that one particular regional grouping appears to be at the forefront of these alarming pronouncements, while other religious leaders across the country generally maintain a more sober approach in their preaching and sharing of God's word.
The collective responsibility of all citizens is to guard against any calls for war or violence. Instead of resorting to conflict, Zambians are encouraged to register as voters and exercise their fundamental democratic right to effect change in government, should they deem it necessary, through peaceful and legitimate means. The message underscores the importance of national unity and a blessed future, encapsulating the spirit of "One Zambia One Nation."
