Two suspected drug peddlers are on the run after their vehicle was intercepted by police in Narok County.

According to a police report, the two suspects were ferrying the drugs from Kisii to Nairobi.

The authorities said the driver ignored police orders to stop, prompting a high-speed chase along the Narok–Mai Mahiu highway.

“Police officers from Ntulele in Narok East intercepted a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado suspected of transporting narcotics from Kisii to Nairobi,” reads part of the statement.

The vehicle was later found abandoned along the Nairegie Enkare feeder road after developing mechanical problems.

“Its two occupants fled into nearby maize plantations and are still at large. Officers recovered three sacks containing 600 brooms of bhang.”

The vehicle was towed to Ntulele Police Station and the drugs kept as exhibit as investigations continue.
