The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced a significant and strategic redeployment of several senior officers, an initiative meticulously approved by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke. This comprehensive reshuffle, effective as of 31 October 2025, is primarily aimed at bolstering operational efficiency, fostering greater synergy across its ranks, and precisely aligning the Service’s structure with Air Marshal Aneke’s distinct command philosophy. According to statements released by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, this redeployment is a critical component of ongoing efforts to optimize command effectiveness, streamline decision-making processes, and enhance mission readiness.

The strategic postings encompass key appointments at Headquarters NAF, various field commands, and operational units. Notably, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Abubakar Abdullahi has been appointed Chief of Policy and Plans, steering the NAF’s strategic direction. AVM Precious Amadi now assumes the crucial role of Chief of Operations, while AVM Nnamdi Ananaba takes charge as Chief of Air Intelligence, reinforcing the Service’s intelligence gathering and operational deployment capabilities. The critical areas of standards and training are now overseen by AVM Ebimobo Ebiowe as Superintendent of Standards and Evaluation, and AVM Ahmed Dari as Chief of Training, ensuring excellence and preparedness across the force. Furthermore, reflecting the NAF's commitment to modernization, AVM Mohammed Ibrahim is now heading the Transformation and Innovation Branch, signaling a sharpened focus on technological advancements and overall efficiency within the Service.

The Mobility Command will now be under the leadership of AVM Michael Onyebashi as Air Officer Commanding (AOC), while AVM David Pwajok assumes the role of Chief of Communication and Information Systems, vital for secure and effective communication networks. The crucial role of maintaining discipline and order across the NAF falls to AVM John Ukeh, who takes charge as Air Provost Marshal.

Further strengthening the NAF’s administrative and welfare structures, AVM Ibitayo Ajiboye has been appointed Group Managing Director of the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited (NAFIL) Group of Companies. AVM Simon Peter takes the helm as Managing Director of NAFIL Housing and Construction Company, and AVM Abdulrasheed Kotun becomes Managing Director of NAF Farms, focusing on the welfare and sustenance of personnel. AVM Edward Gabkwet has been named the new Chief of Civil-Military Relations, fostering stronger ties and understanding with civilian populations.

In the realm of education, AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun assumes duty as Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Kaduna, with AVM Osichinaka Ubadike named as Deputy Commandant. Crucially, in a concerted move to strengthen joint operations and national defence coordination, several other senior officers, including AVMs Ahmed Bakari, Albert Bot, Idi Sani, Muhammed Suleiman, Jibrin Usman, and Japheht Ekwuribe, have been strategically redeployed to various defence and inter-service establishments, promoting greater collaboration and effectiveness across the national security architecture.
