Troops Raid Bandits Hideouts, Arrest Gunrunner In Taraba
Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, in collaboration with Sector 2 Operation Safe Haven have raided and destroyed some hideouts, belonging to bandits in Taraba State.
In a statement on Monday by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, disclosed that the security agents also arrested notorious gunrunner in the state.
Captain Oni noted that on 22 March 2025, troops launched a decisive offensive on Achalle, a border community between Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State and Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He added that the military men engaged and successfully dislodged the terrorists, forcing them to flee.
The statement reads: “Our troops made contact with the bandits and, due to superior firepower, forced them to abandon their stronghold.
“We recovered two motorcycles and an international passport belonging to one Muhammadu Dahiru, a suspected member of the criminal network.

“The entire camp, which had over 70 huts, was destroyed to prevent its future use.
“On March 20, 2025, acting on credible intelligence, troops apprehended Alhaji Mansur Mohammad, a suspected member of a high-profile gunrunning syndicate, in Donga Local Government Area.
“In his possession, troops discovered 1.2 million Naira intended for the illegal procurement of arms. Investigations revealed that the funds were traced to sponsors based in Bauchi State.”
