Toulouse wins FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam 2025

Toulouse (FRA) emerged victorious against Liman (SRB) with a score of 21-19 in overtime at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam 2025 on May 18. The French team, after inconsistent pool play results, elevated their performance during the knockout phase, defeating Amsterdam and Vienna to secure a spot in the final. Their opponent was the previously undefeated Liman, whom they had already faced and lost to in pool play.
The final began as a tactical match between two physically strong teams. Liman initially took the lead with inside shots, but Toulouse responded with baskets from Hugo Suhard. Zigon played aggressively for the Serbians, while Rambaut and Djoko kept Toulouse within striking distance. The teams exchanged points, maintaining a tight scoreline for most of the game. Liman gained a slight advantage when Marko Stevanovic scored a two-pointer, putting them ahead 10-7 with just over four minutes remaining.
Liman held the lead until the final minutes, when Toulouse rallied back, fueled by timely two-pointers from Jules Rambaut and inside play from Franck Seguela. Toulouse managed to take the lead, but a late two-pointer from Stevanovic tied the game at 19 apiece with only seconds left. Seguela attempted a shot at the buzzer, which appeared to be the game-winner, but it was disallowed as the buzzer had already sounded. In overtime, Paul Djoko made a crucial two-pointer, securing Toulouse's first stop win of the season with a dramatic 21-19 victory.
Djoko, also known as "The Joker," was the hero for Toulouse, finishing the tournament with a team-high 29 points, including five in the final against Liman. His impact on both offense and defense was instrumental in Toulouse's success, earning him the MVP award in Amsterdam. In the individual contests, Trey Bardsley (Miami, USA) won the Shoot-Out Contest powered by MVB BOUW, and Piotr "Grabo" Grabowski won the Dunk Contest presented by NXT Level.
The final standings were: 1. Toulouse (FRA), 2. Liman (SRB), 3. Vienna (AUT), 4. Hangzhou (CHN), 5. Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED), 6. Carolina (PUR), 7. Miami (USA), 8. Vračar (SRB), 9. Riffa (BRN), 10. Utrecht (NED), 11. Lausanne (SUI), 12. Düsseldorf (GER). The 3x3 World Tour continues next weekend in Marseille (May 24-25).
