Tinubu celebrates Dr. Shettima at 65

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated renowned political scientist and development expert, Dr. Kole Shettima, on his 65th birthday, praising his contributions to democracy, human rights, and national development.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday, Tinubu described Dr. Shettima, the Director of the MacArthur Foundation for Africa, as a distinguished scholar and activist whose work has significantly shaped Nigeria’s democratic landscape.
The President commended Dr. Shettima’s dedication to advancing peace and justice, noting his role in mentoring a new generation of non-state actors and supporting both governmental and non-governmental organizations in tackling developmental challenges.
“The contributions of Dr. Kole Shettima to nation-building, democracy, and the promotion of human rights are invaluable. His leadership at the MacArthur Foundation has strengthened Nigeria’s civil society and helped address key governance issues”, Tinubu stated.
President Tinubu also acknowledged the MacArthur Foundation’s continued efforts in supporting initiatives that drive transparency, accountability, and good governance in Nigeria.
As Dr. Shettima marks his milestone birthday, Tinubu offered prayers for his continued good health and further service to humanity.
