TheCable understands that the bandits attacked the Divine Majesty Worship Ministry camp in the town last Monday.
A church source said the bandits broke into the hostel at a time when the worshippers were holding a prayer vigil at night and abducted many worshippers for an N100 million ransom.
Ramhan Nansel, Nasarawa police spokesperson, confirmed the incident to TheCable on Sunday.
However, the police spokesperson said only one worshipper was killed during the attack.
“Only one female named Florence died in the incident,” he said.
Nansel said the church housed financially constrained worshippers in a hostel on the same premises.
He said the abducted persons were rescued within 48 hours and were reunited with their families.
