The Unexpected Accessory Everyone's Wearing At New York Fashion Week
New York Fashion Week always sets the tone and street style trends for the season to come as the Fashion Month circuit kicks off every February in the Big Apple.
The autumn/winter 2025 runways are already off to a great start with Marc Jacobs' whimsical show filled with blow-up doll silhouettes and balloon shoes, and Calvin Klein's call of the office siren. Elsewhere, Coach revisited our childhood toys as inspiration for their fluffy animal slippers and bag charms, while Tory Burch showcased a lineup of enviable coats.
But outside the events, show-goers are braving subzero temperatures, which means we've been getting lots of winter dressing inspo for how to stay chic, while preventing frostbite (no mean feat!).
Oversized jackets are unsurprisingly still the go-to for New Yorkers to cosy up in as well as some enviable boots, but one particular accessory has been spotted on nearly every street-style star, and given London Fashion Week is coming up next, we're certainly glad to see it's something that also happens to keep our tips toasty.

7 best winter coats for women 2024, according to the runways

Chic leather gloves have been sported by all the stylish ladies, be it in a classic black or brown or in pops of colour like tomato red that recall another element of the outfit. My personal favourite is seeing gloves in colours that add nuance to a look, be it baby blue mitts with a yellow coat or suede mustard gloves with a denim outfit.
Gloves may not be a new accessory in themselves, but we're certainly welcoming the way the street-style set has elevated the practical hand warmers with arms, or rather hands, wide open. The other good thing about this trend? You likely already have a pair hidden away somewhere. So go on and dust off those retro driving leather gloves in your parents' closets and get inspired by some of the best New York Fashion Week street style looks below.
