The truth behind Astronomer CEO Andy Byron's VIRAL statement following his scandalous Coldplay moment - 'It's fake'

Coldplay, cuddles, and the kiss cam, three simple ingredients for a scandalous recipe that allegedly exposed a corporate affair between Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his HR head Krisin Cabot.

Reportedly, Andy Byron and Kristin both are married to other people, and their cheating affair was caught on the kiss-cam at the recent Coldplay concert, following which, a statement was doing rounds on social media saying that Astronomer CEO acknowledged the scandal. However, the truth is different from what is going viral on social media. Byron’s company, Astronomer, told TMZ the statement that is going crazily popular on social media, purportedly written by Andy himself to address the alleged affair -- is “not a real statement.”

Andy Bryon and Krisin Cabot’s Coldplay moment went viral in no time. The couple was seen enjoying the concert in each other’s arms, and just as the camera panned on them, their awkwardness and chemistry both caught attention. They tried to hide themselves, but it was too late, too little. Following the incident, this statement started circulating on the internet."I want to acknowledge the moment that's been circulating online, and the disappointment it's caused.

What was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage. I want to sincerely apologize to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer. You deserve better from me as a partner, as a father, and as a leader.

Do you think viral fake statements can cause real damage to someone's reputation?

This is not who I want to be or how I want to represent the company I helped build. I'm taking time to reflect, to take accountability, and to figure out the next steps, personally and professionally.

I ask for privacy as I navigate that process.I also want to express how troubling it is that what should have been a private moment became public without my consent. I respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else's life into a spectacle.fiAs a friend once sang: 'Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you."

Reportedly, this statement is by a parody account and holds no truth.

However, it is doing the rounds on every social media platform. Netizens are reacting to the statement. Andy is facing heavy criticism for putting the blame on Coldplay and Chris for the whole fiasco in the viral statement.

Andy Byron (50) has been the CEO of Astronomer since July 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. He is married to an Associate Director of the Lower School and Admissions for the Hope Graham Program, Megan Herrigan, with whom he shares two kids. Meanwhile, Megan Herrigan has been charting headlines for removing the marital surname, 'Byron,' from her social media account, before deleting the page altogether.
