The Radfords Return: Mum-of-22 Sue Radford's Lavish £50k Florida Getaway Sparks Debate

The Radford family, widely recognized as Britain's biggest family from Morecambe, has embarked on yet another trip to Florida, returning to Walt Disney World just before the September school term recommences. This recent visit follows a lavish holiday in April, which celebrated Sue Radford's 50th birthday and was estimated to cost a staggering £52,000. Documenting their adventures, the family, often seen donning iconic Disney ears, shared glimpses from their time at the parks. Mum-of-22 Sue revealed that Epcot stands out as their absolute favorite theme park.
The April trip was a particularly grand affair, with Sue and Noel not only bringing their 22 children but also their grandchildren, accumulating a total of 39 travellers. This extravagant Easter break journey, with its significant price tag, was undertaken despite the family publicly stating they had been "feeling the pinch" financially. Nevertheless, the Radfords, who gain income from their Channel 5 show "22 Kids and Counting" and their business, Radford's Pie Company, made it clear they would spare no expense for what they considered a "holiday of a lifetime."
A detailed breakdown of the April trip's expenses offers insight into the scale of their travel. The cost of flights alone was a substantial £26,228, not including any potential excess charges or additional baggage fees for such a large group. For park admission, a seven-day Disney visit necessitated 7-Day Magic Tickets for most guests, tallying up to an estimated £20,065. These comprehensive tickets provided access to both theme parks and water parks, allowed for multiple entries per day, and included a 'memory maker' package for unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads. Fortunately, children under the age of three were granted free entry, providing a minor saving.
Accommodation expenses also contributed significantly to the overall cost. Sue and Noel have previously shared their preference for renting villas during holidays to manage costs and ensure the entire family can stay together. To comfortably house 39 individuals, they would have needed to book three villas, based on a property identified on rental site Vrbo that sleeps 15. At £300 per night per villa, a week-long stay would accumulate to £6,300 for accommodation alone, excluding any food expenses incurred either within the villa or at the parks. While it remains unconfirmed if the entire extended family of 39 joined them on this latest visit, the Radfords continue their tradition of enjoying memorable family getaways to Orlando's renowned theme parks.
