have released their debut single ‘More More More’.
The band have been catching attention across the past 12 months, touring relentlessly in the process. Popping up at sweat-pit venues across the country, The Molotovs have honed their sound at show after tireless show.
The band supported the Sex Pistols at their Teenage Cancer Trust show – in the Royal Albert Hall, no less – overnight, but such grand ceremonies aren’t an everyday occurrence. In fact, The Molotovs are equally fresh from in Soho outside cult vinyl emporium Sister Ray.
New single ‘More More More’ out now, and it’s a potent debut offering. You can hear shades of those impeccable 45s from The Jam in there, alongside The Who’s auto-destructive qualities, and even the odd dose of Bowie’s glam fantasies.
It’s held together by pangs of suburban ennui, however, with ‘More More More’ spinning a tale of youthful frustration away from the bright lights.
Guitarist comments: “It’s about existing in a transient relationship that you feel indifferent about. Filling up time with drinking and partying to distract you from the mundane boredom of life, covering up for lack of personality, and deep down knowing you want more.”
With an ultra-limited vinyl pressing incoming, you can check out ‘More More More’ below.
