, /PRNewswire/ -- Under the guidance of UNESCO and the United Nations International Cooperation Public Welfare Organization, the 2025 Mammoth International Contest on Omics Sciences - Young Scientist Track (referred to as 2025 MICOS-Youth), co-organized by BGI Research and Jinze Charitable Foundation, was officially launched on May 22, 2025.
About the Competition
Previously, the Mammoth Cup had held four successful competitions with the focus on cutting-edge life science research and industry innovation. This year, the 5th edition of Mammoth Cup launched with a new global competition track for youth aged from 12 to 22.
Following four successful editions focused on cutting-edge life science research and industry innovation, this year marks the first time the Mammoth Cup opens a global competition track for youth aged 12–22. MICOS-Youth is the world's first youth innovation platform that deeply integrates frontier life science research with biodiversity-focused public welfare practice.
The competition centers on environmental DNA (eDNA) as a core tool, promoting the vision: "Every data point can protect the planet." Through a dual-track model of scientific research and public service, MICOS-Youth is committed to nurturing future scientists equipped with both academic competence and social responsibility.
