The 2025 Critics Choice Awards TV Nominations Are Finally Here
The 2025 Critics Choice Awards TV Nominations Are Finally Here!
The American-Canadian Critics Choice Association has been flipping through a lot of channels this year.
After all, the 2025 Critics Choice Awards television nominations have been announced—and as a reminder before the event itself airing on Friday, Feb. 7 on E!, the categories are stacked with the most binge-worthy shows.
Shogun has continued to slay the award season, leading the pack with six nominations, including Best Drama Series, Anna Sawai’s Best Actress in a Drama Series and Moeka Hoshi’s Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
It’s been a winning year for legendary Japanese star Hiroyuki Sanada, who nabbed the Best Actor in a Drama Series nomination just months after winning his first Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. (As a producer on the show, he quickly followed it up with his second Emmy win when the FX show nabbed Outstanding Drama Series.)
The competition is stiff, with The Diplomat, The Penguin, Abbott Elementary, What We Do in the Shadows, Hacks tying with four nominations. The latter three will face off in multiple comedy categories, including Best Comedy Series; Quinta Brunson, Natasia Demetriou, Jean Smart, respectively, in Best Actress in a Comedy Series; and Tyler James Williams, Harvey Guillén and Paul W. Downs, respectively, for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Other notable nominations include English Teacher’s A+ grade with three nominations, including Best Comedy Series. Meanwhile, Doctor Who’s 15th Doctor Ncuti Gatwa, who picked up Best Actor in a Drama Series, is shouting “Haydi ama!” for earning the show’s first Critics Choice Award nomination.
