Tessa Thompson's Secret Project: All Eyes Are On Her Next Big Move

Tessa Thompson, the acclaimed 42-year-old actress, recently discussed her diverse career, encompassing her roles in the critically praised film Hedda and the upcoming Netflix psychological thriller miniseries His & Hers. Interviewed in a sophisticated setting, Thompson exuded a patient serenity and intentional ambition, reflecting her strong leadership qualities and generous nature. Her performance in Hedda, which premiered to acclaim at TIFF and earned her a Golden Globe nomination, has garnered significant Oscar buzz. Simultaneously, she's promoting His & Hers, an adaptation of Alice Feeney’s 2020 novel, where she plays Anna Andrews investigating a murder in her hometown, alongside her estranged husband, Detective Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal).
Thompson's decision to join His & Hers was immediate, largely due to her admiration for series writer and director William Oldroyd. She recounts a serendipitous encounter with his 2016 film Lady Macbeth in London, which profoundly impressed her and made her vow to work with him someday. The timing for His & Hers was perfect, as Thompson was already in Atlanta for Creed III, close to Dahlonega, Georgia, where the miniseries is set. Thompson and Oldroyd quickly agreed to film on location for authenticity.
