Tems thrills fans with 'Love Me Jeje' at FIFA Club World Cup final
Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, dazzled the crowd on Sunday evening with a live performance of her hit track, “Love Me Jeje”.
The performance took place during the halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup final held at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.
The Grammy-winning artiste appeared on stage in a glittering outfit that blended African style with global flair, drawing cheers from fans across the stadium.
Tems’ soulful delivery and calm stage control sparked excitement among football fans, who had just witnessed Chelsea secure a commanding 3-0 lead over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) by halftime.
The performance of “Love Me Jeje”, which is a modern remake of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 classic, was met with loud applause and wide praise on social media.
Since its release in 2024, Tems’ version of the song has enjoyed heavy rotation across streaming platforms, radio, and public events, becoming one of her most talked-about singles this year.
Fans online praised her vocal strength, stage presence, and the cultural pride she brought to a global football stage. Many described the performance as “a win for Africa” and commended FIFA for putting an African artiste at the centre of such a high-profile event.
Tems now joins a growing list of African artistes making waves on international stages.
