A teenager charged over a knife incident at a secondary school, which left two people injured, has been charged with further offences.

Police were called to Manshead Church of England Academy in Caddington in Bedfordshire at around 1.40pm on Friday to reports of a student thought to have a knife.

The 16-year-old was arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm without intent, actual bodily harm, and threatening a person with a bladed article on school premises, and appeared at Luton Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Following the hearing he was also charged with false imprisonment, grievous bodily harm and three further counts of threatening a person with a bladed article on school premises.

The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, has been remanded ahead of his next hearing on 9 June.

Two people injured in the incident have both been discharged from hospital. Their injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing, said police.
