A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after a knife incident at a secondary school.

Emergency services were called to Manshead C of E Academy in Dunstable Road in Caddington, Bedfordshire, around 1.40 pm on Friday 2 May, to reports of a student believed to be carrying a knife.The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm without intent, actual bodily harm, and threatening a person with a bladed article on school premises.

It is not known if the teenager was a pupil at the school.

Two people injured in the incident have been discharged from hospital- their injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening or changing.Bedfordshire Police said officers will remain in the area over the coming days to provide ongoing support to the school and local community.They urged anyone affected by the incident to seek support via Central Bedfordshire Council’s website.
