Tech Giants Unite: EY and NVIDIA Powering the Future of Physical AI Deployment!

EY is significantly advancing its capabilities in the realm of artificial intelligence that interacts with the physical world, announcing a new structured approach for companies to integrate smart devices like robots and drones. This initiative includes the launch of a new physical AI platform developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, the establishment of a dedicated EY.ai Lab in Georgia, and the appointment of new leadership to spearhead its efforts in this evolving field.

The newly introduced physical AI platform is built upon NVIDIA’s cutting-edge tools, specifically leveraging NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, NVIDIA Isaac, and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software. According to EY, this comprehensive setup provides organizations with a clear and methodical framework to plan, rigorously test, and effectively manage AI systems designed to operate in real-world environments. This encompasses a wide range of applications, from intricate factory robots to advanced drones and various edge devices.

Each component from NVIDIA plays a crucial role in the platform's functionality. NVIDIA Omniverse libraries are instrumental in the creation of highly detailed digital twins, allowing firms to meticulously model and test physical systems in a virtual environment before actual deployment. NVIDIA Isaac tools provide essential open models and simulation frameworks, enabling the design and validation of sophisticated AI-driven robots within detailed 3D settings. Furthermore, NVIDIA AI Enterprise software serves as the robust computing backbone, indispensable for running the intensive AI workloads required for these complex systems.

EY outlines that the platform is structured around three core pillars. Firstly, 'AI-ready data' focuses on generating synthetic data that accurately mirrors a broad spectrum of physical scenarios, crucial for training AI models. Secondly, 'Digital twins and robotics training' offers tools that seamlessly connect digital and physical systems, facilitate real-time performance monitoring, and ensure operational continuity. Lastly, 'Responsible physical AI' establishes critical governance and control mechanisms designed to address paramount concerns such as safety, ethics, and compliance in AI deployment. This holistic platform is engineered to support the entire lifecycle of physical AI integration, from initial planning stages to long-term maintenance, across diverse sectors including industrials, energy, consumer goods, and health.

Raj Sharma, EY Global Managing Partner – Growth & Innovation, emphasized the transformative potential of physical AI, stating it is already
