Taylor Swift's 'The Fate of Ophelia' Reign Continues: Fifth Week at Global No. 1!

Taylor Swift's latest hit, “The Fate of Ophelia,” has continued its impressive run, topping both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts for an unprecedented fifth week. The track, which debuted atop both tallies in October, saw a rebound in its position on the Global 200 and maintained its number one spot on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. This extended command marks Swift's sole longest reign on the Global 200, surpassing the four-week run of her 2022 hit “Anti-Hero,” and further extends her longest domination on the Global Excl. U.S. chart.
For the week ending January 15, “The Fate of Ophelia” led the Global 200 with 78.3 million streams, marking a 2% increase week-over-week, and 17,000 units sold globally, an impressive 41% jump. This significant sales boost was partly attributed to the digital release of its TELYKAST & XanTz remix on January 14, followed by an extended version the very next day. Outside the U.S., the song secured its top position on the Global Excl. U.S. chart with 61.5 million streams (up 3%) and 6,000 units sold (up 19%).
The Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts are meticulously compiled by Luminate, ranking songs based on comprehensive streaming and sales activity from over 200 territories worldwide. The Global 200 encompasses data from across the globe, while the Global Excl. U.S. chart specifically omits data from the United States. Rankings are determined by a weighted formula that considers official-only streams from both subscription and ad-supported audio and video music services, alongside download sales from full-service digital music retailers. Notably, sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from these calculations.
Beyond Swift's continued success, the charts also welcomed new entries and notable movements. Bruno Mars' “I Just Might” made a strong debut, landing at No. 4 on both the Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts. Globally, the lead single from Mars' forthcoming album, "The Romantic" (due February 27), garnered 60.2 million streams and 19,000 sales in its first week, marking his fifth top 10 entry on the Global 200. On the Global Excl. U.S. chart, it debuted with 37.4 million streams and 6,000 sales beyond the U.S., making it his fourth top 10 on that tally. Additionally, Zara Larsson’s 2015 hit “Lush Life,” experiencing a viral resurgence, achieved its first Global Excl. U.S. top 10 by jumping 13-10, fueled by a 25% increase to 31 million streams outside the U.S. Larsson expressed her delight, stating, “It’s nice to see that people are connecting with what I do, as well. I have things to say.”
Other significant chart movements include Djo’s “End of Beginning” dropping to No. 2 on the Global 200 after its No. 1 debut last week, and HUNTR/X’s “Golden” holding at No. 3, having previously spent 18 weeks atop the chart. Both tracks continue to benefit from their respective Netflix ties, with Djo starring in "Stranger Things" and “Golden” featured in "KPop Demon Hunters." Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” slipped from No. 4 to No. 5 on the Global 200, while RAYE’s “Where Is My Husband!” climbed one spot to revisit its No. 5 peak on the Global Excl. U.S. chart. The charts dated January 24, 2026, will be updated on Billboard.com on January 21, a day later than usual due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The top 100 titles are publicly accessible, with complete 200-title rankings available via Billboard Pro, the publication's subscription service. Readers can stay updated by following @billboard and @billboardcharts on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
Luminate, acting as the independent data provider for the Billboard charts, ensures the integrity of the rankings through a thorough review and authentication process for all data submissions. Any data deemed suspicious or unverifiable is removed, adhering to established criteria, before the final chart calculations are made and officially published in partnership with Billboard.
