An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Lausanne. Top-ranked GC Zurich faced second-best CNBS. Guests from Zurich (5-0) defeated host
CNBS (3-3) 82-71. GC Zurich had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Spanish point guard Esteban Felez (191-2001) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international power forward Ilija Vranic (201-1997) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Matteo Da Silva (180-2006) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated GC Zurich have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. CNBS at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Winterthur. GC Zurich are looking forward to face Villars (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. CNBS will play against Wallabies (#5) in Kuesnacht-Erlenbach and it may be a tough game between close rivals.Bottom-ranked Red Team (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 76-57 loss to top-ranked Tigers U23 (4-0) in Lugano. It was a good game for swingman Andre Donnelly (198-2005) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Dame Salane contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. French point guard Engene Sokoa (178-2006) replied with 6 points and 6 rebounds for Boncourt. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tigers U23 have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Tigers U23 maintains ninth position with 4-0 record. Boncourt at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with five games lost. Tigers U23 will play against Acad.Fribourg (#12) on the road in the next round. Boncourt will play against Allschwil (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Geneve was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Winterthur (3-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Bernex (1-4). Winterthur managed to secure a 7-point victory 73-66 on Sunday. Joao Grosso had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Jeremy Jaunin with 15 points and 5 assists. Bernex's coach Mickael Delaville rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Winterthur moved-up to third place, which they share with CNBS. Loser Bernex keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Levaux. Winterthur will meet at home league's second-placed Meyrin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bernex will play against Baeren (#6) in Basel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last game of round 6 Grand-Saconnex was crushed by Red Devils in Morges 89-67.
