Swift's Reign Continues: 'The Life of a Showgirl' Dominates Billboard for Fifth Week!

Taylor Swift's album, "The Life of a Showgirl," has maintained its dominant position atop the Billboard 200 chart for a remarkable fifth consecutive week, as recorded on the chart dated November 15. During the week ending November 6, the album garnered 120,000 equivalent album units in the United States, despite an 18% decrease from the previous week. This achievement makes "The Life of a Showgirl" only the second album in 2025 to spend its first five weeks at No. 1, following Morgan Wallen's "I’m the Problem," which held the top spot for its initial eight weeks out of a total of twelve. Swift has a history of lengthy chart reigns, with her previous album, "The Tortured Poets Department," spending its first twelve weeks at No. 1 in 2024, contributing to its seventeen total weeks atop the list. Similarly, "Folklore" reigned for its first six weeks in 2020, achieving eight overall weeks at No. 1. Breaking down the units for "The Life of a Showgirl" in the latest tracking week, streaming equivalent albums (SEA) comprised 98,000 units (down 18%, equating to 129.07 million on-demand official streams), securing its fifth week at No. 1 on the Top Streaming Albums chart. Album sales accounted for 18,000 units (down 21%), causing a drop from No. 3 to No. 4 on Top Album Sales, while track equivalent albums (TEA) saw a modest increase of 11% to 4,000 units.

Alongside Swift's continued success, other significant movements were observed within the Billboard 200's top ten. Florence + the Machine notched their fifth top 10-charted effort with "Everybody Scream," debuting at No. 4. This new set arrived with 56,000 equivalent album units, with traditional album sales making up a substantial 44,000 units, placing it at No. 1 on Top Album Sales. The album's strong first-week performance was bolstered by its availability across six vinyl variants, four CD variants (including signed editions), a standard digital download, and a deluxe download edition featuring four “chamber version” bonus tracks. The title track, released as the lead single, achieved top 10 positions on both the Alternative Airplay and Adult Alternative Airplay charts and reached No. 37 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. Florence + the Machine's previous top 10 albums include "Dance Fever" (No. 7 in 2022), "High as Hope" (No. 2 in 2018), "How Big How Blue How Beautiful" (No. 1 in 2015), and "Ceremonials" (No. 6 in 2011), while their debut, "Lungs," peaked at No. 14 in 2010.

Further chart activity saw Tyler, The Creator’s former No. 1 album, "CHROMAKOPIA," make a dramatic leap from No. 117 to No. 5 on the Billboard 200. This surge followed its one-year anniversary reissue, which included CD, vinyl, and two deluxe boxed sets. The album earned 51,000 equivalent album units, an impressive 390% increase, with 41,000 of those units coming from traditional album sales. "CHROMAKOPIA" originally debuted at No. 1 on the November 9, 2024-dated chart and held that position for its first three weeks. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack and Morgan Wallen’s "I’m the Problem" remained at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, earning 84,000 and 77,000 equivalent album units. Rounding out the top ten were Sabrina Carpenter’s "Man’s Best Friend," which slipped from No. 5 to No. 6 (38,000 units, down 8%), Olivia Dean’s "The Art of Loving," falling from No. 6 to No. 7 (37,000 units, down 3%), SZA’s "SOS," rising from No. 10 to No. 8 (31,000 units, down less than 1%), Morgan Wallen’s "One Thing at a Time," stepping up from No. 11 to No. 9 (30,000 units, up 3%), and Cardi B’s "AM I THE DRAMA?," dipping from No. 8 to No. 10 (down 12%).

The Billboard 200 chart meticulously ranks the most popular albums in the U.S. each week based on multi-metric consumption, measured in equivalent album units and compiled by Luminate. These units are a composite of album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Specifically, one equivalent album unit is tallied as either one album sale, ten individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported on-demand official audio and video streams, or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. Luminate, as the independent data provider for Billboard charts, rigorously reviews and authenticates all submitted data, removing any suspicious or unverifiable information using established criteria before the final chart calculations are published. The full November 15, 2025-dated chart will be made available on Billboard’s website on November 11.
