Calls of shots fired inside a home turn into a barricade situation involving multiple police agencies and SWAT in Renton.

Around 11 a.m. the police answered calls of gunfire inside a home near 2600 Northeast 5th Court in Renton.

When police arrived they tried to make contact but the suspect barricaded himself inside the house.

Renton Police request Valley SWAT to help arrest the 35-year-old man.

Around 3 p.m., the man fired shots at police but did not hit anyone.

The man eventually surrendered and was taken to jail on suspicion of first-degree assault.

Renton PD said the scene is secured but the investigation is expected to last a few hours.
