Vijay Deverakonda was the cynosure of all eyes at the pre-release of Suriya’s upcoming film Retro.
The Arjun Reddy star attended as the chief guest for the star-studded event that was celebrated in grand fashion in Hyderabad
on Saturday evening. It was an event that was a witness to two stars (Vijay and Suriya) who showcased the bonhomie and cheerful congeniality. The event saw a massive fan turnout bringing in a lot of energy apart from witnessing some heartfelt speeches from some of the biggest names in the industry. Vijay Deverakonda set the stage ablaze with his heartfelt words.Addressing the fans he stated that he is thrilled to be promoting Suriya’s film. The actor further recalled that his love for Suriya started after watching the 2008 film Ghajini. “Ever since, I watched all his movies and Suriya S/O Krishnan holds a very special place in my heart. I still get emotional whenever I hear the 'Chanchala' song."
"Watching Suriya anna’s dedication, body, acting and dancing made me dream about meeting him once in my life. Today, to be sharing the same stage as him is a memory I'll cherish forever,” said Vijay.
Vijay further added that as an actor, Suriya's fearless choice of films has always been an inspiration for him. He added, “He keeps experimenting with genres and consistently pushes boundaries. I hope Retro brings him another huge success.”
Suriya too expressed gratitude stating that working with director Karthik Subbaraj has been a special experience. The actor is thrilled to work with Sitara Entertainments and producer Naga Vamsi who is known for his lucky hand at the box office. “I am also happy to announce my next Telugu film #Suriya46 under Venky Atluri’s direction and produced by Naga Vamsi garu,” commented Suriya, and added, “Vijay's journey makes me proud like a brother. I wish him massive success with the Kingdom too.”
Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Reto stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. The film, backed by 2D Entertainment and distributed in Telugu by Sitara Entertainments, is set for a grand worldwide release
on May 1.
