Stars Align: KOK & Nosa Rex Crowned Faces of Don Coco Drinks!

Nigeria's beverage landscape has welcomed a new entrant, DonCoco, a premium brand launched by IKI Leads Ltd. The brand made a grand debut by unveiling an impressive lineup of brand ambassadors, including A-list Nollywood stars Zubby Michael, Nosa Rex, Catherine Onoja, and Dukori Patience, alongside Liberian-born model Fanta Amonaline Kouyateh. The star-studded unveiling event, held in Lagos, brought together prominent figures from the entertainment and business sectors to celebrate what is being hailed as a significant milestone for locally produced premium drinks.
Innocent Onwunali, the Managing Director of IKI Leads Ltd, shared the vision behind DonCoco's creation during the launch. He emphasized that the brand represents the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream to produce high-quality, premium beverages that are still accessible and affordable to Nigerians. Onwunali articulated the company’s primary objective: “Our goal is simple, to build a brand that Nigerians can own, enjoy, and take pride in.” He highlighted the challenge posed by imported brands, whose costs are inflated by importation fees, making them less accessible. DonCoco, being proudly made in Nigeria, aims to circumvent these cost barriers, ensuring broader affordability and market penetration. Furthermore, Onwunali assured consumers of the company's commitment to maintaining stable prices for a considerable period, even in the face of inflationary pressures, to ensure continued affordability.
DonCoco has debuted with a diverse range of variants designed to cater to the varied tastes of Nigerian consumers, a strategy informed by extensive market research. The initial offerings include Vodka with Orange, Whisky and Cola, Tequila Reposado, and Single Malt Whisky, promising a premium experience across its product line.
The launch received a glowing endorsement from Nollywood legend Kanayo O. Kanayo, whose remarks garnered enthusiastic applause from the attendees. He eloquently likened the brand to a well-prepared dish, stating, “When you cook a soup, you have a name for it, and that name sells it. This soup has been cooked in a factory, and the factory has a name.” Kanayo proclaimed DonCoco as the "drink of the century," suitable for all seasons and genders, and praised the immediate marketing impact of having celebrity ambassadors like Zubby Michael and Nosa Rex onboard. He urged Nigerians to embrace this proudly local innovation.
The newly appointed brand ambassadors expressed their immense excitement and pride in representing DonCoco. Actor and filmmaker Nosa Rex personally attested to the product's quality, confirming, “I drink it, so I’m not just saying it’s nice for nothing. I’ve tasted all of them, they are good products.” Zubby Michael offered a personal commendation to the CEO, praising his humility and drive as exemplary leadership. Actresses Catherine Onoja and Dukori Patience, along with model and content creator Fanta Amonaline Kouyateh, also conveyed their pride, noting that the diverse range of flavors ensures inclusivity, offering something appealing for every palate, and called for Nigerians to embrace the new taste with optimism.
