Sphere-Sational Debut: Timothée Chalamet Makes History Atop Las Vegas Landmark!

Timothée Chalamet has embarked on an unprecedented marketing campaign for his upcoming sports comedy/drama, "Marty Supreme." In a groundbreaking move, Chalamet became the first individual to ever appear atop Las Vegas’ iconic Sphere. This striking promotional stunt, executed in collaboration with CashApp, saw the two-time Oscar nominee standing on the roof of the landmark, boldly declaring, “Marty Supreme is an American film that comes out on Christmas Day 2025.” As the camera dramatically panned out to reveal the Sphere glowing orange, he added the movie's tagline: “Dream big!”
Chalamet’s marketing blitz for "Marty Supreme" extends beyond this singular spectacle, showcasing a truly unique and diverse approach. The campaign has incorporated various creative elements, including organized table tennis tournaments, strategic collaborations with the brand Supreme, staged Zoom calls designed to generate buzz, and even individuals following the star around, masked with giant ping-pong balls for heads. This eclectic mix of promotional activities underscores the film's connection to its inspiration, as "Marty Supreme" is loosely based on the life of legendary table tennis champion Martin Reisman.
Speaking to Vogue about his dedicated work ethic and his drive to entice audiences to engage with his projects, the 29-year-old actor emphasized the importance of his proactive approach. He explained his philosophy, stating, “You don’t want to risk being too declarative. But I also don’t want to look back on life and things I’ve put out and go, ‘Oh, little old me. Hey, see the movie if you want. It is what it is.’ No.” Chalamet believes that this directness, while potentially polarizing for some, is ultimately more effective: “At worst, you’ve rubbed people the wrong way. And at best, someone will get pulled in and go, ‘Hey, this guy really thinks this thing’s worthy.’”
Further elaborating on the core message of "Marty Supreme," Chalamet referenced an unexpected source of inspiration during a recent BBC interview. He gave a heartfelt shout-out to singer Susan Boyle, expressing his conviction that she perfectly embodies the ethos of "Marty Supreme." He remarked, “She dreamt big. She dreamt bigger than all of us. I remember it like it was yesterday,” highlighting the film's theme of ambitious dreaming and achieving the seemingly impossible.
