South Africa's tourism sector entered a new phase of governance as Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille officially dissolved the South African Tourism Board on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, a decision taking immediate effect. This significant action was taken in terms of section 16(3)(a) of the Tourism Act No. 3 of 2014, which empowers the Minister to dissolve the board
