Published 1 month ago2 minute read

KEVIN Quiambao made a strong comeback from his sprained ankle, but his efforts still ended up in a loss for Goyang Sono Skygunners.

The back-to-back UAAP MVP put up 14 points on 2-of-7 shooting from deep, to go with five assists and four rebounds, only to see Goyang Sono absorb a 94-69 defeat to Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters on Tuesday at Goyang Sono Arena.

It's the third straight defeat for the Skygunners, dropping them to 10-23, as they now sit at the bottom of the Korean Basketball League (KBL) standings.

This was just Quiambao's second game in the KBL after suffering an injury in his debut back in Jan. 12.

At the opposite end of the court, fellow Filipino Javi Gomez de Liano was scoreless in six minutes of play for Anyang (11-23).

Meanwhile, SJ Belangel's heroics could not save Daegu KOGAS Pegasus from falling to Busan KCC Egis, 87-81, at Daegu Gymnasium.

The former Ateneo stalwart uncorked 21 points built on two treys, on top of four assists, two boards, and two steals, as the home team saw the end of its two-game win run.
Daegu is now at fourth in the ladder with an 18-14 card.
