Much-loved Kenyan singer Stivo Simple Boy is known for his unorthodox fashion sense.

For instance, Stivo wore a bold red denim jacket and matching shorts, decorated with numerous plush toys stitched across the fabric. He completed the look with a teddy bear accessory.

He is taking social media by storm with his latest ensemble, made from cardboard boxes.

On Friday, June 20, Stivo shared a video at a TV station, presumably for an interview.

He donned a black mask to stand united with other Kenyans paying homage to Boniface Kariuki, a mask seller shot in the head by police during protests.

Stivo sent a powerful message on police brutality.

“Mtu anayepiga kelele bila hoja, ni kama ndege bila mguu hajafikiria anapokwenda. Wale waliopotea hawakuomba vibaya; sasa jiulize, nani ataumia ikiwa mimi, wewe, au sisi sote hatutaomba haki (A person who makes noise without a reason is like a bird without a leg that has not thought about where it is going. Those we lost did not pray badly. Now ask yourself, who will be hurt if I, you, or all of us do not pray for justice)?”

He also shared photos of the outfit while declaring that:

"The Dragon of Africa must be respected."

Many Kenyans supported Stivo’s call for justice, with some hailing his metaphoric way of addressing matters in Kiswahili.

However, others were fixated on the outfit. Here are the reactions from Kenyans:

kittspaent:

"Mzee Kobe."

v.o.k.a.l.i:

“The dragon has spoken. Let’s unite and fight our corrupt leaders.”

lashe_sbykal:

“Bro spitting facts in Kiswahili.”

directoroscarstarks:

“Justice for the fallen.”

snowy_ess_capades:

"The wise man has spoken."

zemwidick:

“Say it clearly for all to understand. You have a point.”

izoh_oo:

“This one is going to space, he has left us in Kenya.”

ignah_cious:

“Slowly, like a tortoise, but we will get there.”

geragerrykibe:

“That they are asking if we are okay. How will we be okay while Simple Boy has decided to be a tortoise?”

On to some unfortunate news, Jonah Kariuki, the father of the 22-year-old hawker, claimed that he lost KSh 200,000 to fraudsters posing as Social Health Authority officials.

The scammers convinced him they would help clear his son's hospital bill if he registered under SHA.

Believing them, Jonah shared his personal information, including his M-Pesa PIN.

Though the scammers initially requested KSh 20,500, Jonah accidentally sent KSh 200,500.

He later confirmed the loss and said attempts to recover the funds failed. Kenyans online reacted with shock, some criticising the scammers, while others questioned why he shared his PIN.
